DevOps / Systems Reliability Engineer

Are you interested in helping meteoblue extend its leading edge automatic environmental services? We are looking for a devops and systems engineer with a passion for high performance systems, solid experience, and a broad skill set who wants to learn more.


  • Implement and ensure operation of high availability, load balanced, and geographically redundant systems
  • Monitor systems, specifically customer-facing APIs
  • Run and maintain numerical weather prediction processing chain running on high performance clusters
  • Run and maintain web applications
  • Setup and maintain servers in hosting centres as well as VMs at global points of interest
  • Backups, distributed resource scheduling
  • Integrate legacy systems with operational CI/CD processes

Your profile

  • Fast learner
  • Reliable and well organised
  • Quality oriented
  • Solid experience in running non-trivial server applications
  • Good knowledge of systems such as Puppet, Graylog, Prometheus, Proxmox, Ceph, Grafana, Gitlab CI/CD

This is a permanent position, either as full-time employment or as a long term consultancy contract. Part-time can be discussed with very experienced applicants. Permanent employment requires that you live in, or relocate to, the Basel region including nearby France or Germany. Salary is competitive with excellent benefits, 20 days paid vacation, plus 10 public holidays.
