Local climate zones

The general climate zones do not take into account the local topography and charactresistics. The local climate of a particular zone can thus be considerably different of the general climate which should occur at this place. This is for example the case for glaciers, areas with relatively high mountains or littoral areas. These regions are indeed much more influenced by rapid temperature change and local atmospheric currents.
