meteoblue gives access to different spatially continuous observational datasets. Observations from satellites and radar are very useful for model calibration and verification and especially for real-time correction of forecasts, such as in the case of nowcasting. They usually reach a higher accuracy than weather models and are available for large areas. meteoblue offers the following types of observations:
- Satellite images (real time)
- Radiation / Clouds (real time & history)
- Precipitation (real time & history)
- Vegetation (history)
- User observations (real time & history)
